Koh Samui Villas

The range of villas for sale and rent on Koh Samui is far reaching. The most popular properties are priced in the mid-range bracket, and are generally 2-bedroom detached family houses, but you can also find a number of exclusive high-end 4 and 5 bedroom villas on the market.

The more populated areas on the island include Chaweng, Lamai and Bophut, all of which boast a good selection of mid-range villas and developments. The relatively untouched north and west coasts have become increasingly popular locations for more exclusive villas, many of which boast private beachfronts or offer panoramic sea views. In fact, with beachfront land increasingly difficult to find, hillside plots are slowly becoming the preferred location

Prices for villas vary widely, with 3-4 million baht typical at the budget end for compact 1-2 bed bungalow-style villas within residential developments, right up to 40 million plus at the top end. Prices are still on average cheaper than those on Phuket, especially for luxury properties and the market still represents great value when compared to Europe and other western countries.

In terms of villa designs, modern Asian architectural styles have had a strong influence on Samui with an emphasis on open plan interiors that maximize outdoor spaces and combine the use of natural materials with internationally sourced fixtures and fittings. A number of resident interior design companies and landscape specialists add a sense of uniqueness to each property. This makes it possible to buy or rent top quality, fairly-priced villas in a number of different locations around the island.
